New Job

Yes, I have left Red Hat. It was a difficult decision, but I was offered a position/salary that I just couldn't pass up. Conceras is my new employer, and you can read all about us at www.conceras.com

Net Neutrality update

Well, I apologize for not keeping current on the Net Neutrality issue. I don't think many people look at this site anyways lol, so I'm sure I'm safe on this one. I don't even check it that often myself! There was, however, a very important change in the issue last month. November 4th. With the election of Barack Obama comes some very good news for Net Neutrality! Read the Save The Internet Blog to hear the good news. http://www.savetheinternet.com/blog/2008/11/14/net-neutrality-on-deck/

Net Neutrality

I don't think enough people are really jumping on the band wagon here. Net neutrality is a huge concern, and there are some SERIOUS threats to what you will be able to access on the internet!

Here is a little snippet from SaveTheInternet.com

Obviously, I don't update often!

OK, so sue me :p I don't really update my website very often. I have heard from a few people that my Xen networking document comes up a lot and people use it. Please feel free to contact me with any issues you may have with it. I need to update it, as there have been a few changes with RHEL 5.1 and how things are done. The document should still work just fine. In fact I still use the exact same configurations. There are just minor things I should add... e.g. virbr0 gets created now, and it's not needed with my config, so "virsh net-undefine default" can be used to remove virbr0.

Creating a bootable DVD from Red Hat Linux CD iso images

I needed to create some RHEL 4u5 Xen VMs on the cluster today. The issue here is that I needed to make them fully virtualized, which means I can't just load them from my yum repository I have set up. Full virts have to be loaded from an .iso image or directly from media which means I have to walk my lazy ass to the server room! Being a really big believer in making things as simple as possible, I decided to take the 5 RHEL 4U5 CDs and make a DVD from them so I can just scp the DVD iso to my repository server and never have to leave my desk ;) After a little googling, I found a script!

Xen Networking over bonded VLANs.

OK, so I've uploaded my how-to for Xen networking on multiple VLANs over multiple bonded NICs. Mouthful! You can find it here:

And a PDF file as well:
